We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to supporting our multi-disciplined team at our Pinkenba facility. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Quality and Safety, the new Safety and Environment Coordinator will work closely to help identify hazards, develop mitigations, and monitor & improve workplace safety and environmental compliance.

**What the role will involve**

This position will work closely with middle management and staff to establish, implement, and oversee safety and environmental processes and activities. The Safety and Environment Coordinator will play a significant role in establishing, implementing, and administering the management systems and providing day to day advice and guidance to the organisation of safety and environment matters.

The responsibilities of your role will include the following:

- Lead, identify and manage WHS programs across the L3HCA sites to achieve the desired outcomes in accordance with business objectives, project management plans and organisational needs.
- Manage specific WHS Focus Groups and teams across the organisation for continuous improvement.
- Maintain Safety System compliance with ISO 45001:2018
- Ensure effective policies, procedures, systems, and services are in place to provide and maintain the highest level of WHS awareness.
- Perform audits and inspections against our Safety Management System.
- Manage workplace injury prevention and rehabilitation across all L3HCA sites.
- Manage Workcover Insurances and Compliance across L3HCA sites.

**What you’ll bring**

The role of Safety and Environment Coordinator requires the following experience and skills:

- Recent experience in Safety and Environmental management across multiple sites.
- Required - Lead Auditor (any discipline)
- Certificate IV in WHS is desirable, but not essential.
- Working knowledge of current OHS&E act, regulations, and codes of practice.
- Strong computer skills in MS office suite
- Ability to detect and resolve problems and issues with mínimal external support.
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional organisational and information management skills.
- Ability to develop strong trusting relationships to gain support and achieve results.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance (AGSVA) NV1
