Genus Infrastructure (GNI) are seeking expressions of interest for our next group of Apprentice Distribution Linesperson to join our team.

The apprenticeship is run over a 48 month period, upon successful completion you will receive a Certificate III in ESI - Distribution Overhead.

GNI offer a wide range of services including planning, designing, constructing, operating, testing, maintaining, managing, and decommissioning of high and low voltage infrastructure including overhead and underground transmission and distribution overhead lines, substations, switchyards, and associated assets.

**Apprentice Primary Function**:

During the 48-month apprenticeship training term the Apprentice works as part of a team of qualified tradesmen performing skilled, high-quality installation, repair, construction, and maintenance to overhead and underground power networks while assisting qualified tradespeople during the apprenticeship.

**Minimum Position Requirements**:

- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Sound Mathematical and English skills.
- Valid Driver’s Licence - “C” Class unrestricted.
- Current National Police Clearance.
- OH&S Construction Safety Induction White Card.

**Position Accountabilities and Responsibilities**:

- Learn and develop ESI Linesperson trade skills to support the completion of Apprenticeship.
- Attend and successfully complete all technical training provided by the Registered Training Organisation in accordance with apprenticeship requirements and within the designated contractual time frame.
- Accurately complete the appropriate electronic or hardcopy apprenticeship work logbook in a timely manner, no less than quarterly.
- Complete tasks as instructed by the designated manager, supervisor, or leading tradesperson, whilst under the supervision of a qualified Linesperson always.
- Demonstrate competency against specific technical units appropriate to year level.
- Provide support to the Linespersons in installing, maintaining, and repairing overhead or underground electrical powerlines, joining power cables, and equipment associated with distribution systems and ensuring system reliability.
