The Grounds and Maintenance Officer/Cleaner is responsible for maintaining the required appearance of the site and attending to any maintenance issues as they arise and in accordance with the requirements of the site.

This role will also ensure the rooms and facilities of the site are clean and maintained to a high standard for our customers.

**_ This is a full-time position combined of 28 hours Grounds & Maintenance work and 10 hours cleaning work per week. _**

**Key Accountabilities**
- Maintain garden beds including pruning, weeding, fertilising, replanting, mulching, and hedging as required.
- Mow and edge areas as indicated on the site plan or as directed by your Manager.
- Collect rubbish bins from around the site for disposal.
- Clean and maintain the pool and pool area in accordance with procedures (if applicable).
- Ensure there is a maintenance register in place to record equipment servicing and repairs.
- Report any issues relating to grounds and maintenance to your Manager.
- At all times exercise and maintain the highest respect for the residents, guests and employees.
- Clean Leisure Centre facilities & offices and other work areas so that health standards are met.
- Empty bins and transport trash and waste to appropriate areas.
- Ensure all appliances are clean and in working order.
- Remove expired food from fridge/s.
- Replenish supplies in Leisure Centre facilities and other areas.
- Disinfect equipment and supplies.
- Sweep, scrub, vacuum floors using brooms, mops or powered scrubbing or vacuums machines.
- Wash windows, walls, ceilings and wooden surfaces as necessary.
- Request repair service from the Maintenance department.
- Assist with stocktake of housekeeping stock and amenities.
- Ensure all common areas are kept in a clean and tidy state.

**About You**
- Current “C” class drivers licence (site dependent)
- National police check
- Experience / Requirements
- Demonstrated capability and experience in carrying out basic maintenance of facilities and grounds
- Demonstrated capability and experience in carrying out cleaning duties
- Good written and communication skills
- Ability to respond well to emergency situations
- Proactive team player
- Ability to solve problems quickly and effectively
- Initiative to resolve and/or highlight any issues that may be foreseen
- High levels of customer service
- Positive and enthusiastic
- Confident and proficient at reasoning with people
