The Meteorology Trainer is located at the Bureau of Meteorology Training Centre (BMTC) within the Organisational Development Program (OD), Enterprise Services Group (ESG).
This position is within the educator pool of BMTC. The occupant of this position will work as a member of a team, undertaking major STEM teaching and assessing duties. The position is based in Melbourne. A Graduate Diploma in Meteorology or a comparable overseas qualification is a requirement; as is a Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training or Grad Diploma in Education or equivalent qualification and experience.
The duties of this position include the development and delivery of new learning materials, coaching and mentoring of graduates in a team teaching environment as well as updating both the science of, and blended nature of, current learning materials. From time to time, the occupant of this position will need to undertake planning and administration duties.
A measured but flexible approach to training and education is preferred, as the duties include interaction with individual learners in a culturally diverse cohort. The occupant will be required to monitor the performance of graduates and, as necessary, and troubleshoot any issues associated with learning performance and work standards with the Manager Meteorologist Initial Training (MIT).
