**The Organisation**

The Hospital is the State’s tertiary referral centre and is also the primary teaching hospital for the University of Tasmania School of Medicine. The Hospital provides most specialist medical services for the region or state.

The department offers a wide range of services, including prenatal care, labour and delivery, gynecological surgeries, fertility treatments, and postnatal care. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and cutting-edge technology, the O&G department ensures the highest standards of medical care, safety, and comfort for patients. The team collaborates closely with other specialties within the hospital to provide multidisciplinary care, promoting a holistic approach to women's health.

**The Job**
- As an Obstetrics & Gynaecology Registrar, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of private and public inpatients and outpatients
- You will be responsible for the admission and care of patients and for liaising with specialist medical staff regarding patients
- You will supervise residents, interns and medical students
- The Obstetrics & Gynaecology Registrar will attend specialist ward rounds and record all decisions made in the medical history
- You will respond to calls by members of the patient's care team in a timely manner
- You will participate in after-hours work and on-call roster
