Our client, a very well established and respected Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon based in the Brisbane CBD is actively looking to appoint a highly experienced **Patient Care Co-ordinator** to join their practice.

This is a permanent part time position working 4 days a week (Monday to Thursday, 24-32 hours a week).

**The key duties and responsibilities will include (but not be limited to)**:

- Liaising closely with referring clinics to ensure the smooth transition of patient referrals in a timely manner
- Managing patient bookings, including the triaging of new patient referrals
- Patient greeting, care and education
- Chairside charting, image capturing and downloading/uploading into Genie software
- Processing of post consultation and post operative accounts through Hi-caps terminal and Medicare
- Drafting post operative letters for the Surgeon to review and sign
- Preparing patient surgery quotes and booking patient surgery procedures
- Assisting with in-room procedures
- Maintain sterilization and maintenance of surgical instruments in accordance with the Infection Control Management Plan and all governing bodies standards and policies.
- Clinical and consumable stock control and ordering
- Receiving and unpacking of all clinical and consumable stock
- Maintenance of patient digital charts
- Maintenance and servicing of all clinical equipment, including autoclave, ultrasonic, water distiller, surgical hand pieces, headlights and other surgical instruments
- Surgical instrument and equipment stock control, quotes and ordering

**To be closely considered for this position, you will have**:

- A warm, engaging personality with a genuine empathetic attitude and supportive manner towards patient care
- Certificate III in Dental Assisting
- A previous background in a similar position (ideally having some clinical experience as well in the capacity of a Dental Assistant or alike)
- Exceptional people management skills, phone manner and attention to detail
- Task driven whilst being patient focused
- Creative thinking - think laterally, outside the box
- Proficient computer/IT skills, accurate data entry skills and preferably experience using Genie or Exact practice software, MS Office - Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Efficient time management and organisational skills
- Ability to multi-task and work well within a small team environment
