**About the role**
Mater Education has an exciting opportunity for experienced **RTO Educators** to join the team to deliver the **Diploma of Nursing** within our **Springfield** campus.
Mater Education is a leader in clinical education and a nationally, accredited, independent, hospital-based Registered Training Organisation (RTO), the only one of it’s kind in Queensland. With world-class simulation programs, facilities and faculty, we deliver contemporary, interprofessional workforce training and translational simulation services across a wide range of sectors including health, aged and residential are, childcare and direct to the community.
Working as a member of Mater Education’s team, you will collaboratively provide clinical education and support towards the delivery and assessment activities related to the Diploma of Nursing. We are looking for Educators who are passionate about teaching the next generation of health are professionals and desire to make learning fun and engaging.
**Salary: Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900**
**What you will be doing**
The RTO Educator is responsible for student management and is accountable for ensuring excellence in educational outcomes within the resource constraints of the organisation and in the context of our mission and values. They will plan, develop and deliver education training within the Registered Training Organisation and other related training courses.
Your key duties will include but will not be limited to:
- Plan, prepare and deliver training according to program requirements including workplace, online or classroom, and/or a combination of each when they are scheduled.
- Provide flexible training and assessment strategies suited to the learning needs of individual students.
- Deliver and assess participants within classroom, simulation and workplace experience environments.
- Evaluate and monitor student progress throughout the course, providing appropriate student support as needed.
- Manage assessment of student competence throughout the course, providing sufficient constructive feedback to promote positive outcomes.
- Seek appropriate assistance of students have learning or literacy difficulties, or disabilities.
- Ensure all deliveries are fully compliant with the Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015 or subsequent regulatory framework.
- Manage students administratively according to Mater Education’s procedures within the student management system (SMS) and learning management system (LMS).
- Attend and contribute to team meetings, open days, expos and information nights as required.
- Facilitate students on clinical placement.
- Provide a learning environment with mínimal risk to staff and students by meeting Workplace Health and Safety benchmarks.
- Actively participate in validation of assessments through the moderation process
- Undertake professional development to maintain currency in vocational and teaching practices and clinical expertise
- Contribute to professional development of educators
**About you**:
To be considered for this role, applicants will possess the below qualifications and experience:
- Relevant qualification related to nursing and a current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse without restrictions
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or higher
- Current Drivers Licence
- Minimum 3 years relevant industry experience
- Experience in either midwifery, diabetics or palliative care would also be highly desirable
- Knowledge/experience in the VET sector
- Detailed understanding of the relevant profession and accreditation requirements
- Knowledge/experience working within an RTO environment
- Sound knowledge and experience of compliance regarding AHPRA and ASQA
