As Australia’s largest residential aged care provider, we are excited to introduce the Care Champion role to Bolton Clarke. This role is based at The Ormsby, a 136 bed residential aged care facility located in the beautiful Buderim. The Ormsby is close to shops, banks, schools and medical services, while still being a part of the welcoming, friendly Buderim village and only 15 minutes from the Sunshine Coast’s fabulous beaches.

A unique and career-defining new role within the industry, our Care Champions will have a dedicated focus on leading and providing person-centred care for our residents.

Ideally suited to passionate individuals with a Certificate III (Individual Support), you will work across a group of residents and their families to ensure they experience exceptional resident care.

As a Care Champion, you will be an important member of our Home Leadership team, playing a vital role in delivering the best care to our residents and champion Bolton Clarke’s purpose in helping people live a life of fulfilment each and every day.

**The Role**
- A frontline advocate for a group of residents. You will take ownership of residents’ wellbeing and care by maintaining a schedule of check-ins to ensure all their needs are met.
- Understand each resident you care for as an individual with unique needs and encourage regular feedback (formal and informal)
- Proactively problem solve and attend to gaps in resident needs through collaboration and teamwork. Communicate and work with the care team to ensure consistent and high-quality resident care and support.
- Demonstrate the Bolton Clarke Values-in-practice to foster a culture of kindness, curiosity and great care
- To be the day-to-day relationship link for families, keeping them up to date with the care and wellbeing needs of the resident.
- Build strong and inclusive relationships by communicating effectively with residents, families, and staff team members.

**Requirements**:

- Strong and clear verbal communication skills
- Good care knowledge
- Strong customer service skills
- Knowledge of compliance requirements
- Good systems knowledge and IT skills
- All mandatory learning up to date
- Team coordination or coaching skills (desirable)
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or equivalent (required)

Important: All aged care employees and visitors must be fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID-19 in order to enter an aged care facility. All successful applicants will be required to provide proof of both vaccinations prior to commencing with McKenzie Aged Care.
