26 Paws is a brand-new boutique dog grooming salon attached to Table 26 cafe in Westfield Chermside. Table 26 cafe is a family and pet friendly cafe next door and is all about family values. Table 26 Group is a local family business that has big plans to expand throughout Queensland and we are looking for the right people to go on this exciting journey with us.

We currently have Table 26 cafe locations in West End, Carindale, Indooroopilly & Chermside with 26 Paws adjoining this location.

Task & Responsibility:

- Perform all grooming-related duties necessary to ensure that pets are neat, clean, and look their best including bathing animals of various sizes and temperaments, trimming, clipping, or shaving hair/fur, and removing matted hair.
- Comply with pet owners' instructions as well as accommodate any special requests and treat all animals with love and care.
- Demitting and detangling hair as required
- Bathing, conditioning, and drying pets
- Trimming pets’ nails, brushing their teeth, and cleaning their ears
- Grooming and styling pets according to pet owners’ instructions or standard grooming styles
- Accommodating special requests that pet owners may have
- Identifying health issues in pets, such as ear infections, skin conditions, or dental disease, and informing the veterinary staff of these observations
- Ensuring that all pets are safe during the grooming process
- Inspecting, preparing, cleaning, disinfecting and maintaining comfortable animal cages and enclosures for their stay
- Transporting food, filling water troughs and feeding animals according to their individual needs during their stay
- Exercising and playing with animals
- Answering visitor questions
- Routinely cleaning work areas

Requirements & Role:

- Australian work authorisation
- Highly motivated and passionate about dogs
- At least 2 years’ experience with style and breed grooming
- Prefer completion of Certificate III in Pet Care and Grooming but not necessary based on experience.
- Ability to safely groom and style a variety of popular dog breeds to a high standard.
- Ability to wash and blow-dry dogs (if necessary)
- Follow workplace health and safety requirements and guidelines for your safety and the dog.
- Ability to follow directions, work productively in a fast-paced environment and respect team members to ensure a happy workplace.
- Clean and maintain grooming equipment, workstation and tools.
- Ability to lead by example and inspire the team to provide exceptional customer service and achieve a team goal of a minimum 4.5 star google rating.
