Are you an experienced Production Planner who thrives in the dynamic world of manufacturing? We've got an incredible opportunity for a Production Planner / Project Coordinator to join a thriving specialist machinery manufacturer. This is a newly created role that will give you the chance to make a real difference in the manufacturing processes to boost operational efficiency.
**Role Overview**:
As the Production Planner / Project Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in efficiently planning, scheduling, and coordinating builds to ensure the timely completion of projects. Collaborating with various departments, including Sales, Design, Purchasing, Operations, and Production, you will optimise staff resources and provide valuable assistance to the organisation. Your responsibilities will include developing comprehensive production plans, coordinating production activities, managing resources, maintaining quality control processes, documenting progress, identifying areas for improvement, and supporting the production team.
**Key Responsibilities**:
Plan and schedule builds, considering resource availability, project requirements, and customer demands.
Coordinate production activities by collaborating with supervisors, team leaders, and stakeholders.
Proactively plan and optimise the utilisation of staff resources on the shop floor.
Work closely with Design and Purchasing departments to anticipate component needs and ensure availability.
Implement quality control processes and maintain adherence to quality standards.
Maintain accurate documentation of production plans, schedules, and project progress.
Provide support and guidance to the production team and facilitate weekly production meetings.
Engage with customers to discuss build timelines and maintain customer satisfaction.
Collaborate with stakeholders to implement production planning software and inventory systems.
Establish standard procedures and best practices for production planning and scheduling.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
**Key Skills / Qualifications**:
Proven experience in production planning or coordination within a manufacturing environment.
Analytical mindset with data interpretation and problem-solving abilities.
Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
Ability to optimise staff resources and coordinate the flow of materials.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
Commitment to delivering high-quality results and attention to detail.
Proficiency in production planning software and ERP systems.
Experience in implementing new software systems and inventory management.
Knowledge of road machinery manufacturing processes and operational efficiency is an advantage.
Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, manufacturing, or related field (preferred but not required).
