We are seeking an Education and Engagement Advisor to join our Communication and Engagement Group in the Strategy and Engagement Division.

***The Opportunity**

As the Education and Engagement Advisor you will develop and implement communication strategies to improve our community’s understanding of the urban water cycle. The role delivers our education program and supports the development of community and stakeholder engagement plans across our long-term planning activities to ensure alignment with our strategic direction.

**What you'll do**:

- Deliver innovative education programs to school students and the broader community that facilitates an understanding of water, wastewater and stormwater management in our region.
- Develop targeted and fit-for-purpose community and stakeholder engagement plans to support strategic programs and long-term planning activities such as water security, biosolids and purified recycled water.
- Advise internal stakeholders on work or projects that may impact community, in alignment with Hunter Water’s Community Engagement Strategy.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to implement a whole-of-business approach to water literacy, as well as identify broader education and engagement opportunities that align with our Corporate Strategy.
- Develop a range of communications materials for various channels and purposes including education resources, community publications, website and social media content.

**What you'll need to be successful**:
**Essential Criteria**:

- Tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, or a related discipline with an educational background or experience in stakeholder and community engagement.
- Highly developed verbal communication and interpretation skills for diverse audiences (e.g. primary school students, secondary students, community groups, stakeholder groups, teachers).
- Strong written communication skills including the ability to plan, develop and prepare written communications materials for all mediums and audiences.
- Proven skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and changing deadlines.

**Desirable Criteria**:

- IAP2 Accredited
- Excellent planning and organisation skills
- Experience working in community engagement, or in a similar government role
- Knowledge of water and wastewater equipment, system and processes
