**About the role**
**Key responsibilities include**:
- Assist in the preparation of the annual Actuarial Valuation Report to the requirements outlined in GPS 340.
- Facilitate the monthly liability valuation process and provision of information to the CFO.
- Facilitate the provision of additional information required by the CFO in preparation of quarterly and annual statutory reporting.
- Identify and act on opportunities to improve the timeliness or accuracy of reporting processes.
- Facilitate the preparation of data and other information to be used for reinsurance placements and claims.
- Present relevant information to reinsurance partners and brokers regarding claims, new business and other general business updates.
- Assist with reporting to be done by the Head of Reinsurance.
- Respond to other ad-hoc requests as required.
- Ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, including mandatory training for self and team.
- Embracing the culture of best practice risk management within the team, including technical and peer review.
- Extensive actuarial experience with well-developed analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Roughly ** years’ relevant experience in the provision of actuarial services in the general insurance industry, specifically reserving related.
- Knowledge of professional actuarial standards and ongoing Professional Development as required by the Institute of Actuaries of Australia.
- Strong grasp of Australian Financial Services regulatory frameworks.
- Understanding the link between reserving, pricing and portfolio monitoring
- High attention to detail, ability to work under pressure.
- Strong time management skills and ability to handle multiple project assignments.
- High level of integrity and professional accountability.
