About the role

The Head of Testing is a newly formed position within our Customer and Technology division designed to deliver large scale change in line with Transurban’s overarching strategy.

Reporting to the General Manager of Customer Platforms, the Head of Testing will be accountable for the design and delivery of testing strategies and practices whilst working closely with the Head of Operations on environment and release activities.

As the Head of Testing, you will:

- Use your industry expertise to define the overall testing strategy for Transurban’s Customer Platforms
- Partner with on and offshore stakeholders and vendors to build a high performing Testing Centre of Excellence, including the recruitment, development, and management of testing resources
- Work collaboratively with teams across Customer and Technology to identify appropriate testing tools & solutions, support Proof of Concepts, and drive implementation and adoption across the business
- Partner closely with the Head of Operations and Heads of Delivery to ensure testing is completed in a timely and orderly fashion to guarantee quality releases
- Drive appropriate test automation and risk-based testing approaches most suitable for the respective initiatives

This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including:

- Proven experience in designing and establishing a technology practice, or practices, such as a Testing Centre of Excellence
- Proven leadership capabilities in effectively building and managing a high-performing team (ideally inclusive of managing direct / indirect reports, contract resources, and professional services)
- Excellent stakeholder and communication skills with the ability to effectively navigate, influence, and drive results across a matrixed organisation with a continued focus on operational excellence and future readiness
- The ability to adopt a growth mindset as you build resilience and lead others through times of change
