**The opportunity**:
The EHS team at Murdoch Children’s Research Institute acts as the primary contact for a number of regulatory requirements. We liaise with external stakeholders such as regulatory authorities, suppliers, MCRI/VCGS collaborators on EHS matters. The EHS team supports the MCRI network of individuals supporting EHS initiatives (i.e. HSRs, Zone Wardens etc.) and Committees (WHS, Sustainability, Health & Wellbeing). Additionally, we co-ordinate the Health & Wellbeing program and work collaboratively with other stakeholders.

As the EHS Specialist, you will be primarily responsible for providing generalist environmental, health, safety, and COVID-19 response support. You will find you are involved in EHS across the whole of MCRI and VCGS (including clinical areas, fieldwork, laboratories and office). You will have primary responsibility for emergency management planning; COVID-19 case management; and fieldwork safety. You will also become involved in other projects related to improving EHS at MCRI and VCGS.

**Your responsibilities include**:
Emergency management planning
Acting as the primary contact for fieldwork safety
Liasing with key stakeholders to assist with the development of key modules in the risk management software platform
COVID-19 case management - contact tracing, risk assessment, clearance to work
Undertaking incident investigations, and the provision of recommendations aimed at preventing further occurrence
Providing authoritative and expert guidance, support and advice on a range of issues primarily affecting field, office, clinical and laboratory areas
Providing training, or contribute to training programs, as required regarding OHS issues

**About you**:
OHS qualifications or related qualifications
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, SharePoint, Teams)
Strong prioritisation, research, multi-tasking, organisational and planning skills
Ability to work effectively with key stakeholders
(Desired) Background in health, medical research or academia
(Desired) COVID-19 case management / contact tracing
