**The Role**

Our Kwinana Workshop is growing rapidly and is seeking their next front-line leader to join the team and manage the operations for the fabrication department.

The Fabrication Superintendent will report directly to the Workshop Manager and is responsible for providing oversight and direction to Fabrication Workshop personnel to deliver required outcomes effectively and efficiently for the stakeholders, whilst ensuring day to day activities within the fabrication workshop are carried out in the correct manner with respect to quality and safety.

**Key deliverables**
- Drive, implement and ensure compliance to the Company Safety Management Systems and Programmes.
- Conduct new employee and staff annual reviews professionally and timely in accordance with procedure.
- Planning and preparation of Job/Project packages and schedules.
- Setting and reviewing Job/Project priority levels to effectively allocate resources to optimise productivity and completion of Jobs and Projects within specified timescales.
- Requisitioning of material and tooling requirements with appropriate information and sufficient timing, so far as practicable, to allow Purchasing to source goods and services in a controlled and cost effective manner.
- Ensure tooling, machinery, equipment condition is monitored and maintained.
- Provide assistance and resources to other departments, where practicable, to ensure achievement of their objectives.
- Communicate effectively with other Superintendents and departments to optimise resource utilisation and provide maximum notification of any changes to Job and Project requirements.
- Monitor and review costs to ensure, so far as practicable, adherence to Job/Project estimations and budgets.
- Provide suggestions and advice when improvements and cost savings can be identified
- Co-ordinate and participate in monthly toolbox meetings.
- Organise action registers to address workplace safety issues highlighted from workplace inspections.
- Ensure that plant, equipment, tools and the workshop/workplace housekeeping is maintained in an acceptable state.

**What you’ll bring to the team**
- Minimum 10 years demonstrated previous experience within an engineering workshop or process plant environment with a minimum 5 years in a supervisory role
- Engineering Trade Qualification Fabrication
- Ability to lead and manage diverse teams
- Sound knowledge of relevant Australian Standards for Fabrication and Welding
- Demonstrate initiative and creative problem solving skills
- Practical knowledge and understanding of computers and Microsoft software packages.
- Good communication skill, both oral and written.
- Physically mobile with a good fitness level
