**About the Centre/Service**

Our supportive kindergarten is eager to welcome a new member to our family and encourage those who share our passion for early childhood education to apply. We celebrate our place as a community, parent-run sessional kindergarten and promote an open and welcoming environment for our families. Our double unit kindergarten with 2 x 4yo and 2 x 3yo groups ensures that our teaching team is able to collaborate with each other as we share rooms and playground and work closely together providing the best environment possible for our children. We are committed to maintaining a child safe environment and value inclusivity. Please note: In 2024 Boorondara Council is renovating & rebuilding part of our kindergarten. This exciting project has required us to relocate to Balwyn Leisure Centre at 230 Balwyn Road Balwyn until the work is complete & we can move back to Kew. JJ McMahon Kindergarten acknowledges the traditional custodians of our land, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation and pay respect to elders past, present and emerging.

**Description**
- We are looking for a special person to join our highly regarded community sessional kindergarten starting in Term 2 2024. This is a part-time (21.25 hr/week) position with our 3 day a week 4yo red group. Days are Monday 11:00am - 3:15pm, Wednesday 8:00am - 4:30pm and Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm. Monday includes lunch relief in the other 4yo group and there can be some flexibility with the start/finish times on this day. You will work closely with the Early Childhood Teacher to provide a high quality, play based educational program and be responsible to the group teacher on a day-to-day basis for implementing the programs aims. You will have:

- motivation to work as part of a collaborative team
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- initiative and capacity to work with mínimal supervision
- flexibility and ability to adapt to change
- an understanding of facilitating independent learning in a natural risky play environment
- understanding of the NQF & Early Years Learning Framework
- understanding of the Child Safe Standards
- passion for working with 4yo kindergarten children and their families

**Qualifications**
- ACECQA approved Diploma qualification in early childhood or Cert III working towards Diploma
- Current Working with Children
- First aid, anaphylaxis & asthma training
- Mandatory reporting certificate (or willingness to complete prior to start)
