**Division Responsibilities**

Regulatory Practice and Support Division (RPSD) provides a broad range of policy and

enabling services, compliance and enforcement, and leadership in digital transformation

and modernisation for the Health Products Regulation Group (HPRG). The Office of Drug

Control (ODC) is contained within the division, and the division also has policy oversight of

the National Gene Technology Scheme and Australian Industrial Chemicals Introduction

Scheme.

**Branch Responsibilities**

The Regulatory Engagement Branch (REB) is responsible for critical corporate and business

services, gene technology and industrial chemicals policy, and regulatory oversight of the

Poison Standard. We support the delivery of regulatory excellence for each of the four

regulators in the Health Products Regulation Group.

This is achieved through:

- regulatory education, communication, outreach, enquiry, and information

management to support a greater understanding of, and engagement with, the

regulation of therapeutic goods.
- engagement with industry, health professionals, consumers, peak bodies and

Commonwealth, state and territory governments to enable collaboration, capacity

building, and consultation on regulation.
- provision of strategic and policy oversight of the gene technology scheme and

industrial chemicals introduction scheme.
- business planning and performance reporting to ensure open, transparent, and

accountable management of therapeutic goods.
- scheduling of medicines and chemicals in the Australian Poisons Standard to protect

public health and safety.
- developing, supporting and administering cost recovery arrangements for TGA, ODC,

AICIS and OGTR.

**Section Responsibilities**

We provide assistance to stakeholders of the TGA through various help lines including the

main TGA information line, TGA Business Services Help Desk, Revenue Management and

TGA's Annual Charge Exemption Scheme.

We achieve this through:

- promoting TGA as a transparent and responsive government regulator by providingproviding TGA Business Services for stakeholders by effective management of the

TGA Business Services Portal, enquiries, and effective management of ARTG entries
- leading HPRG in best practice enquiry management and business services through

internal educational products, resources, and a Community of Practice
- developing business intelligence that provides evidence-based insights to inform

decision making - providing best practice cost recovery and debt management

services including issuing annual charge invoices and related payment receipting
- providing high quality and timely responses to labour hire support enquiries and

facilitate engagement of temporary contractors
- managing the operation of TGA’s legislated Annual Charge Exemption scheme

**Key Responsibilities**

Specific duties include:

- leading the TGA Contact Centre (TCC) and TGA Business Services (TBS) that manages
- collaborating with the APS6/5 Team Leaders to allocate work to team members,

monitoring progress, and mitigating breaches to service level agreements.
- contributing to and drive a best practice approach to customer support and the user

experience within a small team.
- leading the development of training materials and knowledge articles; maintain

relevance and team knowledge to changes in legislation.
- providing strategic policy and procedural advice to the Regulatory Assistance team

and other teams as appropriate.
- identifying risks and escalate recommendations to senior staff on decisions made to

resolve complex and/or challenging enquiries.
