About the Role
This is your opportunity to bring your strategic communication skills to the table and provide expert advice and support on governance, strategic policy issues, projects and executive support activities within Infrastructure Delivery and Operations Branch.
The Principal Communications Officer will have responsibility for, but not limited to, the following:

- Provide leadership and guidance across ISD regarding executive correspondence and foster a work environment with a strong team focus that encourages commitment, professional growth and continuous improvement.
- Manage quality assurance processes governing the provision of a range of executive services functions including the management of executive correspondence and policy coordination issues.
- Manage the provision of high-level research, analysis, advice, reports, submissions and provide executive support and leadership on strategic issues.
- Utilise effective time management practices and monitor, analyse and evaluate activities and work practices for the unit/division.
- Establish and maintain effective liaison, communication and collaboration processes across the division, department and government agencies.

**Specifically, we are looking for someone with**:

- Demonstrated ability to provide high level strategic advice on Executive Government processes, including Cabinet, Ministerial and Parliamentary functions, legislation development processes applicable to the role of the department and the legislation and policies it administers.
- Proven ability to manage the preparation and coordination of multiple complex reports and documentation and lead teams to achieve organisational outcomes within time and cost limitations.
- Significant record of highly developed leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to build and sustain professional relationships with a network of internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to respond and successfully deliver outcomes in a high-pressure environment including consistently delivering timely and quality executive support in a high pressure, confidential and high-volume environment.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with ability to prepare briefings and submissions, and to consult and negotiate with a diverse range of stakeholders on complex and sensitive issues.
