**About You**:
We want someone that is kind, polite, courteous, and eager to learn. Someone who genuinely cares about their clients is eager to listen and assist them in realizing their full potential. We want someone who posses the following characteristics:

- Alertness and Vigilance: Remaining alert and vigilant throughout the night is essential for monitoring the individuals under their care and responding promptly to any changes or emergencies.
- Attention to Detail: Paying close attention to detail is important for accurately documenting observations, administering medication, and ensuring that individuals receive the appropriate care and support.
- Follows Instructions: To abide by the instructions provided on how to provide care to the participant and instructions on how to complete duties
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Night support workers must be able to think quickly and make sound decisions, particularly in emergencies or situations requiring immediate attention.
- Flexibility: Night shifts can be unpredictable, so being flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances or unexpected events is essential.

**Responsibilities**:

- Meal preparation: Cook nutritious meals using the participants provided meal plan instruction book and follow the instructions provided.
- Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of observations, interventions, and incidents that occur during the night shift, including any changes in the individuals' condition or behavior.
- Compliance with Policies and Procedures: Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations governing the provision of care and support services, including maintaining confidentiality and respecting the rights and dignity of the individuals they support.
- Monitoring: Observing and monitoring the individuals under their care throughout the night to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Assistance with Daily Living Activities: Providing assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming as needed.
- Medication Administration: Administering medication according to prescribed schedules and ensuring that individuals take their medications as directed.
- Emergency Response: Being prepared to respond to emergencies such as medical crises, accidents, or behavioral disturbances, and taking appropriate action to ensure the safety of everyone involved.
- Communication: Communicating effectively with other members of the care team, including nurses, doctors, and daytime support workers, to ensure continuity of care and information sharing.
- Support and Reassurance: Providing emotional support and reassurance to individuals who may feel anxious or unsettled during the night, especially if they have difficulty sleeping or if they are experiencing symptoms of their condition.
- Housekeeping Tasks: Performing light housekeeping tasks such as tidying up communal areas, doing laundry, and ensuring that the environment is clean and safe for the individuals under their care.
- Personal Care: Assisting individuals with personal care tasks as needed, such as using the restroom or repositioning them in bed to prevent discomfort or pressure ulcers.

**Requirements**:

- Ability to work independently and effectively manage time
- Experience with complex behavioral situations
- The ability to support participants to achieve social and self-care goals
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Certificate III in Individual Supports /Disability Cert IV or equivalent
- Current First Aid and CPR
- NDIS Worker Screening check
- Current Working With Children’s Check or willingness to obtain
- Current Australian Driver's License
