**The Role**

As a member of the Air Warfare Engineering Squadron, you will support a wide variety of challenging and rewarding trials, and collaborate with a range of experts in the electromagnetic test and engineering field. In your role as the Electromagnetic Test & Evaluation Technician, you will form part of a small team of specialists to deliver the following outcomes:

- Identify and implement emergent technologies to expand Electromagnetic Test Section capabilities to address emerging Defence requirements;
- Evaluate and ensure the delivered capability meets National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) accreditation;
- Provide support to internal and external taskings for Electromagnetic Interference/ Compatibility testing;
- Promote strong stakeholder relationships with Air Force, Defence Science and Technology group and industry partners;
- Assist with the development and maintenance of partnerships with domestic and international electromagnetic test specialists;
- Ensure suitable hardware and software systems are available for execution of electromagnetic testing;
- Maintain proficiency as a Defence recognised Radio Frequency Radiation Safety Officer;
- Develop and review electromagnetic compatibility test reports;
- Perform test and evaluation activities within the Electromagnetic Test Chamber; and
- Support the Electromagnetic Test Lead to deliver against the organisational strategy

AWE SQN is the only Defence unit operating as a DASA Approved 21J Design Organisation. Accordingly, we are dedicated to the provision of specialist engineering designs and expert advice for:

- Aircraft Instrumentation, and Specialist Aerospace Advice;
- Specialist Air Weapons and Stores Advice, (including loading, clearance and employment), and integration of AUS/US air weapons programs;
- Electromagnetic Compatibility and Radio Frequency Analysis and Advice;
- Aerodynamic Modelling, Weapon Danger Area and Safety Assessments; and
- Rapid Prototyping and Mechanical / Electrical Component and Systems Manufacture
