The primary purpose of the Ministry Assistant position is to be responsible for

coordination and development of mission and ministry to youth and young adults at the Waverley Temple Corps
- About The Role
- We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Ministry Assistant to support the in the delivery of the mission of The Salvation Army Waverly Temple Corps through development and facilitation of youth and young adult’s ministry, in an integrated setting.
- Reporting to the Corps Officer, this is a permanent, part-time (22.8 hours per week), position based in Glen Waverley, Victoria.
- You Will Successfully:

- Plan, co-ordinate and assist with the delivery of Church programs and activities focused on children, youth and families in consultation with Corps Officer(s). Ensuring all programming is in line with The Salvation Army Bellarine Peninsula’s Local Mission Plan and respond to identified needs of the local community.
- Advertise, co-ordinate registrations and attend kids and youth camps run by the corps, Victoria Division or National events
- Oversee and develop an effective mission focus for children and youth ministry.
- Establish links and build relationships with local schools and other youth programs in the community.
- Monitor programs to ensure they remain within the set budgets.
- Volunteers are recruited, trained, and effectively engaged.
- Participates in appropriate funding activities as guided by the Corps Officer(s)

About You:
- Minimum Diploma level in youth work, ministry, education or community services are desirable- Relevant experience in implementing, facilitating and evaluating youth and/or children’s programs.
- Actively promote Vision, Mission and Values of The Salvation Army
- A current and valid Working with Children Check
- A current Victorian Drivers licence
