Your role at St John of God Geelong Hospital

The Grade 2 Exercise Physiologist works alongside the multi-disciplinary team to provide clinical services to clients/patients using advanced clinical practice skills. Ensures practice is in accordance to the Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) Code of Professional Conduct and Ethical Practice and SJGHC policies and guidelines.

The Grade 2 Exercise Physiologist is expected to work independently and demonstrate a senior level of knowledge and depth of experience. The Grade 2 Exercise Physiologist is expected to initiate and participate in teaching, training, research and quality activities, to supervise students and supervise and mentor junior caregivers.

The Position
- Provides a senior level of clinical care to deliver high quality, compassionate, competent clinical services within a range of settings, i.e. inpatient, outpatient, or home/community based services.
- Prescribes, delivers and supervises individual, group remedial, and maintenance exercise programs for patients at an advanced level attending the service, including but not limited to gym and hydrotherapy.
- Responsible for completing appropriate administrative duties arising from each session instructed. This requires liaison with the office administration team, reporting of statistical data and completion of clinical documentation.
- Patients’ rehabilitation plans and outcomes are regularly monitored through attendance at and participation in clinical team meetings as required.
- Demonstrates strong, current clinical knowledge and skills and applies this to contribute to supporting individuals and teams in clinical practice.
- Leads and contributes to undergraduate student programs and training.
- Leads and develops junior staff within the team.

- You will have a Tertiary qualification in Exercise Physiology, Sports Science or similar. Eligible for accreditation with the Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA)._
- To succeed, you will have to demonstrate senior clinical and leadership experience, in a specialised area of clinical practice within a healthcare or disability services setting._
