**Job Description: Smart Home Development Technician**

**Position Overview**
Hive Properties is seeking a full-time Smart Home Development Technician to join our team in Melbourne. This role is integral to the successful integration of smart home technologies into our luxury residential projects. You will be responsible for providing tailored smart home solutions for each project, ensuring seamless design, implementation, and handover of home automation systems.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Research and identify appropriate smart home solutions for different projects.
- Design detailed smart home electrical circuit diagrams.
- Collaborate with electricians to oversee all construction phases related to smart home systems.
- Inspect and approve all electrician work related to smart home installations.
- Independently implement home automation programs and system configurations.
- Provide technical support and training to homeowners and other end-users.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in smart home technologies and propose upgrades or enhancements where applicable.
- Document processes, system setups, and provide clear handover documentation.

**Qualifications and Skills**
- A master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Automation, or Computer Science).
- Strong understanding of residential electrical systems and their integration with smart home technologies.
- Proven work experience in the smart home or related industry.
- Certification in the KNX system or equivalent home automation platforms.
- Background in programming and familiarity with smart home software ecosystems (e.g., Control4, Crestron, Zigbee, Z-Wave).
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail and a focus on quality.
- Ability to communicate effectively and coordinate with on-site staff, contractors, and project managers.
- Flexibility to visit project sites and adapt to dynamic construction schedules.
- Proficiency in both English and Chinese is highly preferred.

**Preferred Attributes**
- Experience with luxury residential projects or high-end smart home solutions.
- Knowledge of IoT integration and cloud-based smart home systems.
- Familiarity with Australian electrical and construction standards.

Pay: $63,533.36 - $88,809.52 per year
