We have an exciting opportunity for a Peer Worker to join our Community Services team located in Geelong on a fulltime permanent basis and will require someone who enjoys working onsite. This is a great opportunity to draw on your lived experince to make a difference for others.

**The Role**

Directly responsible to the Program Coordinator Community Services at Windana, the Peer Worker will collaborate with the multi-disciplinary regional Care Partnership team, inclusive of clinicians from both AOD and mental health sectors.

The goal of the peer worker is to assist the client in navigating the various services offered by the RCP Geelong Otways and work collaboratively with the team to ensure the client receives timely considered support. Through sharing their lived treatment and recovery experience, the peer worker will support clients, encouraging a high level of engagement and participation throughout their time with the Regional Care Partnership.

**The Program**

**Regional Care Partnership Geelong - Otway's.**

This role works within the Regional care Partnership (RCP) Geelong Otway's. The consortium partners, Neami, Windana, Drummond Street, and Wathaurong Aboriginal Co-operative collectively provide primary mental health and AOD services through a collaborative service model.

**Who we're looking for**

**The person we're looking for will have**:

- Lived alcohol and drug experience, with preference to participating in treatment at an accredited Therapeutic Community.
- A minimum of 2 years successfully engaged in work, volunteering or study after graduating from an AOD residential program or other similar treatment service
- High level interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening skills and clear speaking skills, with an ability to tailor communicate style to suit the diversity of residents
- Ability to maintain clear boundaries and engage in self-reflection
- SHARC Peer Training
