APS6 counsellor role based in Rockingham

**Your new company**

This federal government service is responsible for the delivery of mental health services for veteran and defence force communities and their families. You will be working within the Open Arms counselling program providing high quality clinical services. You will be joining a large team of passionate and highly professional staff, within a supportive working environment which provides clinical supervision, professional development opportunities, peer and management support.

**Your new role**

In your new role you will be responsible for clinical counselling and case management as you assist individuals, couples and families. You will facilitate the delivery of the counselling program to veterans, ADF personnel and their families. You will contribute to the development of the program and ensure you participate in ongoing learning for your own professional status. You will liaise with other government departments and welfare agencies in order to meet the needs of the veteran and defence force communities. Key duties include:

- Maintain all clinical records and data
- Facilitate the delivery of counselling and mental health programs
- Liaise with government organisations and external stakeholders to ensure the clients needs are identified and met
- Manage your own case load and ensure you are providing therapeutic based counselling in line with best practice

**What you'll need to succeed**

In order to succeed in this role you must have extensive clinical and management experience. You must have proven experience with trauma informed practice and the ability to manage your own case load.

Key requirements:

- Full AHPRA registration as a Psychologist with a high level of clinical experience
- Proven experience in counselling/case management services
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex case loads with acute mental health issues
- Excellent communication skills including documentation
- WWC check and National Police Clearance
