Vineyard Manager

Mewstone is a 5.6 HA vineyard 40 minutes south of Hobart located on the spectacular D’Entrecastaux Channel. The property also contains our winery and cellar door. We produce premium cool climate wines for both our hughes&hughes and Mewstone range. All the fruit grown at Mewstone is destined for our premium Mewstone label.

We are seeking a talented, hands on manager who has a strong grounding in cool climate viticulture. You will be responsible for maintaining and planning all aspects of the vineyard cycle. You will also have strong skills in general farm management and maintenance.

Job Requirements
- Supervising and training our casual staff and crews
- Tractor operations including spraying and undervine mowing
- Maintaining and setting up machinery
- Irrigation maintenance and repair
- Vineyard improvement, pruning, and nutrition
- Trellis and post repairs

Skills and experience:

- Tractor / machinery experience essential, 5 years minimum
- Basic mechanical knowledge essential
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent record keeping
- Current Australian drivers licence, HC truck preferable.
