**JOB OVERVIEW**

We are looking for an experienced Student Counsellor and Wellbeing Officer, this is a non-teaching role which plays a crucial role and responsible for providing support and guidance to students in matters related to their well-being. This includes conducting individual counselling sessions, creating and implementing wellbeing initiatives, and collaborating with other departments to ensure that students have access to the resources they need.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**
- Ensuring a warm supportive environment for students.
- Being a visible and proactive student support person while building rapport with the onshore and offshore student cohort.
- Providing wellbeing support and strategies for student cohort including a program of guest speakers.
- Assessing students’ needs and developing appropriate case management plans.
- Flagging possible students of concern to the Student Services team and Associate Director Student Experience.
- Supporting students through any challenges they encounter during studies and assisting students to remain engaged throughout the student journey.
- Acting as an advocate for students providing them with formal and informal counselling support.
- Liaising with under-18 coordinators and parents for specific under-18 students of concern.
- Contributing to the orientation of new students each intake.

**Compliance**
- Keep abreast of regulatory updates for Student visa holders.
- Maintaining records of student visits

**Study Group Network**
- To work closely with other Study Group Colleges across Australia and New Zealand to share good practices and ensure consistency of processes.
- To actively support the Study Group’s Strategic Pillars and targets as outlined in the 2024 strategic plan and to work with Study Group central functions to ensure organisational-wide policy and compliance alignment and adherence.

**Contribute to a supportive, positive and safe workplace**
- Comply with company policies and procedures including WHS & Child Protection legislation requirements.
- Ensure as far as is practical that the workplace, under your control, is safe and without risks to health and safeguarding.

**ABOUT YOU**
- Extensive experience working with culturally diverse clients in a counselling or support role.
- Highly developed communication skills.
- Must work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Previous experience working in an International Education Provider.
- Membership or registration with professional bodies like ACA.
- Knowledge of the National Code and ESOS Act.
- Valid Working with Children Check.
