**Role**:
**Role Overview**

The Science / STEM Education Support staff member works with the specialist science teacher to support the implementation of the science / STEM curriculum across the school. This involves supporting both staff and students in the effective use of science equipment, to assist students to engage in the programs and with the specialist teacher assist with planning and organisation of appropriate resources. The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining and updating science / STEM resources and in conjunction with the specialist plan appropriately challenging and engaging science / STEM activities.

**Responsibilities**:
The role of an Education Support staff member may include but is not limited to supporting the science / STEM specialist teacher to:
Assist the specialist science / STEM teacher in coordinating and implementing science and STEM including the preparation of materials, setting up experiments and maintaining equipment.

Assist students and staff to successfully engage with the science / STEM curriculum.

Work closely with teachers and staff to integrate science / STEM concepts into the curriculum including providing professional development and support to extend knowledge classroom across the school.

Gather evidence of student learning including projects and experiments and collaborate with staff to celebrate this work with the wider community through regular newsletter items and yearbook pages.

Use technological knowledge relevant to science / STEM fields to support instructional activities and student learning.

Assist with the planning, implementing and evaluation of special events such as science week.

Commit to ongoing professional development.
