The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Pharmacy Assistant Director to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Strategically plan and manage the health service's pharmacy service to align with Gold Coast Health's goals and objectives and leverage opportunities for innovative services or service delivery
- Professionally lead the delivery of clinical pharmacy services within multidisciplinary teams, providing expert advice to health practitioners in order to deliver effective health outcomes across Health Service
- Provide professional leadership and strategic direction in national and state forums, as well as representing the Health Service by participating in governance committees where appropriate
- Participate in and promote medication safety and continuity of care initiatives, and development and leadership of projects that will achieve improvement in clinical services, patient care and business processes
- Provide expert, informed and timely advice to the Director of Pharmacy on matters related to professional practice, workforce planning, training and professional development, management of pharmacy staff, research, policy development, education, operational and strategic planning of pharmacy services

About you

**To be successful in this position you will require**:

- A tertiary degree in Pharmacy
- AHPRA Registration
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Hepatitis B and COVID 19
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be completed

Salary
- Temporary full time (Until 31 January 2024, with the possibility of extension)
- Base salary ranging from $5 558.00 - $5 753.30 per fortnight

About Us
The Pharmacy Service provides medication management services across the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service, 7 days a week. Our team of approximately 100 pharmacists are assisted in their roles by over 40 support persons comprising pharmacy assistants, administration officers, purchasing and stores personnel. The dispensary at each of the two hospital campuses is also equipped with automated dispensing robots to facilitate dispensing, distribution and inventory management activities. Based in Southport and Robina.
