As we embark on the next stage of our ambitious growth plan, we are currently recruiting for an Insurance Manager to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis.**About the role**
In this newly-designed role in which you will work from our head office in Preston and report to our Group Manager - Loss Prevention, your core areas of focus as Insurance Manager will be to ensure that we have reasonable, appropriate, & cost-effective insurance in place, whilst also ensuring that our insurance claims are appropriately followed-up and administered.- In doing so, you will also manage our insurance liability and reporting requirements to the insurers, ensuring that our ongoing obligations are being met and that our brokers are provided with information that will minimise our premiums whilst maintaining adequate and sufficient cover.- More specifically, some of the key responsibilities of this role will require you to:
- Manage the organisation’s insurance arrangements to provide relevant and cost-effective protection and claims handling.
- Ensure Insurance Policies are reasonable, appropriate and cost effective.
- Provide suggestions and complex advice to departments on the cover they require and the interpretation of current cover in place
- Follow up and administer all open insurance claims
- Investigate claims with the businesses and be able to collate all relevant information and documentation. Be able to determine the correct liability decisions required and drive claims to settlement and challenge decisions made by external parties
- Provide or assist in identification of loss and assist in undertaking loss analysis
- Be able to assist in the production of management information to departments - Undertake effective loss monitoring, identification and reporting of loss patterns to relevant managers.
- Manage the collation and submission of insurance claims, data and other relevant information to our brokers and insurers as required.
- Support our Legal team to document known risks and provide risk mitigation strategies.
- Develop and maintain appropriate relationships with other Service Areas, External Agencies to protect the interests of the organisation.

**About you**
- To be considered for this role, you will need to demonstrate substantial, recent experience of claims handling or underwriting duties gained from working within either an insurance company or with a policy holder.- This experience will have provided you with significant knowledge of the insurance environment, coupled with the practical experience and perspective to support your independent decision making. You will also be able to demonstrate your expertise in interpreting policy wordings from various insurance companies, a good understanding of various classes of business, and a working knowledge of policy renewal and tender processes.- A competent and confident communicator, you will be comfortable working with senior stakeholders across our business and providing advice to solve complex and challenging problems.- More generally, as a senior member of the Loss Prevention team, you will also demonstrate high levels of drive accountability, resilience, and organisation.- The successful applicant will also be required to return a satisfactory National Criminal History Check outcome._
