The Head of Biology at PLC could be the next pivotal step in your career

Commencing 2024, this is an exciting full-time teaching position with a 5-year fixed term appointment and a time release of 3 periods per cycle (0.07 FTE).

The Head of Biology role exists to empower student excellence through exceptional leadership and management of a small team of highly accomplished and collaborative Biology Teachers. In this role, you’ll play an integral part in providing inspiring vision, professional leadership and management skills to the Science and Biology Department.

This role will see you overseeing the ongoing leadership and review of the Biology curriculum development and pedagogy. You’ll have the chance to provide creative and innovative thinking for the curriculum and amongst your colleagues to inspire the best student outcomes. You’ll also provide support and guidance to teachers on best practice teaching practices and in meeting student needs.

The Years 11 and 12 Biology students will be delighted to have you on board to coordinate the delivery of the curriculum for the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) and the International Baccalaureate (IB) in their final years at PLC.

**About You**

You’ll be a qualified, expert teacher in Biology with significant experience and demonstrated success in teaching Biology across Years 7 to 12, including VCE and IB Diploma Programme.

You will have proven skills and aptitude to take your next step in educational leadership - able to confidently lead and mentor staff and students to achieve their potential.

You’ll represent a positive role model for young women and be committed to the integrity, culture and Christian ethos of the College. You’ll have exceptional classroom teaching skills and the ability to set clear, challenging and achievable learning goals for teachers and students.
