**About us...**

The Southport Sharks play in the VFL, which is the second-highest Australian Rules level in Australia, against teams from Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria and are looking for a **Sports Analyst** to join the team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a high-performance environment and assist the VFL coaches in conducting video and data analysis for player education, collaborating with coaches, football department team and IT department.

**About the Role **

Southport Sharks is offering a rare and exciting opportunity for a Sports Analyst to join our Football Department.

The Sports Analyst will play a vital role in assisting the VFL coaching team by conducting video/data analysis to assist and reinforce the coaches strategy and performance management of the team.

This role is crucial in supporting the General Manager of Football, through the implementation of technology-based solutions ensuring the highest possible standards are met.

**About the Responsibilities...**

Reporting directly to the General Manager of Football, the key responsibilities include:

- Working with the coaching group in preparation for key meetings, including match reviews and strategy/opposition analysis for player education
- Responsibility for the setup of game-day technology, including the coaches box and bench on VFL game days, providing key analysis for a specific line coach
- Using various technology, including vision, data and networking to capture training and craft sessions to assist with the monitoring of player performance to support coach feedback
- Collecting and maintenance of the Football Department video data base
- Working with the Football department on the delivery of the club's Athlete Management System

**About you**

Ideally, you have worked in the sporting industry and have experience working with extensive datasets or club Athlete Management Systems. You must be someone with strong experience working in a past paced and high performing sporting environment. You must also have the ability to maintain and establish relationships across a diverse group of coaches, players and staff with utmost professionalism. You must be someone who can demonstrate exceptional communication skills and the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

In addition, you must demonstrate the following:

- Proficiency with a variety of technology solutions and strong understanding of various video hardware for match/training capture.
- Strong understanding of sporting performance analytics and statistics.
- Ability to cut and stack footage from different cameras for coaches analysis.
- Understanding of Excel and Lumin would be favourable.
