This is a temporary, full-time position for Term 1 of the 2025 school year, commencing 23 January until 4 April 2025, with the possibility of extension.

About the School
Burnside State High School is located in the township of Nambour on the Sunshine Coast.
The major focus of Burnside is relationships. We place a priority on quality relationships and this emphasis has provided the key ingredient for its outstanding success across all year levels.
Being a small school, we find it easier to monitor student progress, provide support and work hard together.
Burnside is the proud winner of numerous awards and has hosted many international educators on fact finding visits.
About the Role
As the Head of Department - Mathematics, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited, to the following:

- Lead the school community in developing and committing to a shared vision focused on quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Promote socially just practices in daily school life.
- Set high standards for student and staff performance.
- Engage in lifelong learning and professional development.
- Build partnerships with students, parents, agencies, and community groups.
- Be future-oriented and strategic.
- Understand policies and legislation affecting the department, especially in relation to students and staff within school.
- Manage department resources to achieve goals.
