We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic coordinator to join our Strategic Planning department and to lead the review, development and implementation of policies and plans.

- Tertiary qualifications at degree level in planning, architecture or urban design, or a related discipline
- Extensive relevant experience with demonstrated expertise in managing the planning process
- Highly developed skills in preparing planning proposals
- Well developed skills in project management
- Demonstrated leadership success and supporting a team to achieve outcomes and evolving goals
- High level oral and written skills
- Extensive experience in community engagement
- Commitment to achieving excellent customer service and building relationships

**Things you will do**:

- Supervise, lead and develop a small team of staff and consultants including the allocation of work tasks, work programs and performance reviews.
- Provide briefings and presentations to Councillors, other Council divisions, stakeholders and the community
- Assist the Manager and contribute positively to the effective operation of the Strategic Planning department.
- Develop strategic and statutory policies and plans to ensure that there is an effective planning framework for the management of the built, natural, social and economic environment of Randwick City.
- Actively liaise and consult with local committees, residents and resident groups and Government departments in the development of appropriate Council responses.
- Actively liaise with staff across Council departments to ensure that planning issues / priorities are reflected in the delivery of Council services and facilities.
