The Strategic Communications Branch, within the Department of Health, delivers the strategic communications priorities of Queensland Health, and supports communication activities delivered by Hospital and Health Services.
About the role
The Communications Officer (Identified) is a member of the Communications Team. In this role you'll be relied upon to provide advice and communication support for all clients across the department. This includes delivering corporate communications projects and initiatives and internal and external communication strategies.
This is an identified role. That means that under Section s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent in this role to be an Aboriginal person and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
This helps enable the branch to increase cultural understanding, credibility, communication and engagement across key stakeholder groups.
The successful person
**The successful person will**:
- have experience delivering significant or complex communication, media or engagement projects within agreed budgets and timeframes, ensuring all output is aligned to strategic priorities.
- good communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work in partnership and build and maintain effective professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- have good project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to plan and manage the delivery of numerous competing priorities.
- have good analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in a communication and/or project management context.
- be able to collaborate and contribute to the positive culture of a team with a track record of maintaining a customer service mentality and supporting all colleagues to succeed.

The branch delivers on the strategic communications priorities of Queensland Health. SCB provides strategic communications advice and manages all communications outputs for the Department of Health and acts as system leader in supporting communication activities delivered by Hospital and Health Services.SCB oversees:
