Metallurgist

**The role**
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Metallurgist to join our Technical Services department within our globally successful business.

This full-time position is based at our Waratah site, and will have you using your previous QA, auditing and metallurgical expertise to drive operational excellence within our production methods, accessing continuous improvement of these systems and auditing best practices.

This diverse role will require you to:

- Conduct quality assurance system and process audits to remain compliant with ISO and AAR Quality standards
- Review customer specifications, develop and maintain technical standards for the department
- Oversee quality control process and systems to ensure customer products are delivered in accordance with the agreed specifications
- Coordinate, execute and evaluate product and process development activities, to improve market offer and increase market share/ profitability
- Collect and collate of process data, and analysis information for process improvements
- Calibration of measuring equipment in the department
- Create key relationships with Product Metallurgists, Technical Manager and sales teams

**About you**
The key successes for this role are:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications within the Engineering, Metallurgy, Business Management, or similar experience as a QA Officer and/or Metallurgist
- An understanding of QA principals within heavy industry manufacturing, mining, materials processing plant or similar
- Pragmatic and solution focus, with a proven influencing skills to bring about change and drive positive outcomes
- A willingness to take ownership and accountability of deliverables
- Conceptual, research, planning, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to build strong internal and stakeholder relationships
- A strong focus on safety and identifiable hazards
