Drama/acting Teacher

Geelong Academy of Performing Arts (GAPA) is looking for a creative Musical Theatre / Drama Teacher to join their team in 2023. The position is part time approximately 5 hours per Saturday morning to mid afternoon during the first school term. There may also be a mid-week position available requiring 2-3hrs during the full four school terms. GAPA is expanding class schedules and possible locations in 2023 so this will also provide the opportunity of more hours in the future.
This role includes regular classes as well as concert preparation, rehearsals and opportunities for extra work at school holiday workshops. The successful applicant will ideally have practical musical theatre experience including active participation in theatre productions. The successful applicant will also be able to direct a show and work competently with our Singing and Dance teachers. You will possess a sound understanding and appreciation of what is required to facilitate children aged 7-16yrs to develop the confidence to express themselves artistically and confidently among their peers and a broader more discerning audience. A current Work With Children Certificate is a requirement for this position.
