**Your role**:
A Gap Year in the Army gives you an exciting taste of life in the ADF with just one year’s commitment. You’ll get paid for meaningful work, receive full Army training, and enjoy memorable experiences - unlike anything you’d encounter in most gap year jobs.

The 12-month experience will arm you with skills and knowledge to contribute to your career journey inside or outside of the Australian Defence Force. After completing the Gap Year, you’ll have the opportunity to leave or continue your Army employment in a full-time or part-time capacity.

From the moment you start your Gap Year experience, you’ll be trained to be part of a highly skilled team to handle any situation and keep the Army moving.

Once you complete your initial military training, you’ll grow your skills and expertise in one of the following roles**:

- Infantry Solider** where you’ll form part of an Infantry combat team and be armed with advanced weapons and equipment, or
**- Artillery Operator **where you’ll operate artillery weapons and provide vital artillery support to Army combat operations, or
**- Combat Engineer **where you’ll learn about military field engineering and gain skills in bridge-building, minefield clearance, field defence construction and demolition.

**Salary**:
Upon completion of your initial military and employment training, you’ll enjoy a salary package starting from $71,750.

For this role, you must be aged between 17-24 years old to apply, an Australian Citizen and have completed Year 12, with passes in Year 10 English, Maths and Science.
