Hofmann Engineering has a vacancy available for Engineering Services Manager in our Bendigo workshop.

**The successful applicant will be responsible for**:

- Establishing contract budget and schedules for large orders
- Directing research and development efforts towards providing better engineered products for and/or better manufacturing methods
- Engaging the customer regarding mechanical failures and wear mechanisms and proposing suitable product improvement that will provide commercial benefit to the customer and Hofmann Engineering. Incumbent will be required to review drawings, specifications, materials and work with engineering and metallurgical resources to develop the detailed manufacturing plans
- Use reverse engineering techniques to specify, improve the design of the components and manage manufacturing of these parts.
- Working with maintenance departments at various industrial plants to determine which engineering solutions will provide the best total asset performance
- Ensure all engineering improvements comply with the necessary standards and customer specifications.
- Initiating R&D projects by reviewing failures of customers machinery and developing Hofmann improved parts, and by recommending more efficient manufacturing methods within the Bendigo workshops.
- Visits will be required to sites such as mines, power stations, industrial plants, defence facilities, port facilities and rail operators to inspect machines, measure parts and undertake engineering discussions with customers.
- This role includes travelling to sites mainly in Victoria, Tasmania, Queensland and New South Wales, and occasionally overseas and is a great opportunity for a driven individual who is looking for a long term and rewarding role with a strong stable company.
- This is a challenging role which will encompass all facets of customer support - varying from supporting the already established mining customers, gearing inspection and consultancy work.
- Carrying out inspections on worn plan to monitor for wear and failure
- Supporting the customer with onsite representation during machine installation
- The incumbent will also;
- o Become the prime contact for customers in his regional area.
- o Evaluate customer requirements and commit the company to delivery and price for parts supply and service work.

**Qualification**
- At least 7-10 years relevant Mechanical Engineering experience.

**Training and experience**
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, teamwork skills;
- Able to work with limited supervision, follow directions, willingness to learn and results oriented while maintaining attention to detail

Pay: $73,150.00 - $80,000.00 per year
