The role

The Engagement Advisor will provide professional advice and engagement support on a diverse range of South East Water (SEW) projects, focusing mainly on SEW’s activities for Fishermans Bend (FB), as well as recycled water and integrated water management projects. This incorporates a range of engagement and communication activities to ensure full, open and inclusive consultation with all affected, interested and involved customers and stakeholders, including, but not limited to, community groups, Government Departments, Melbourne Water, Councils and the Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA).

This position works to the core values of community and stakeholder engagement, ensuring that South East Water delivers best practice for managing project and reputational risks associated with our projects.

**The other key aspects of the role include the following**:
Developing and implementing engagement plans for capital works projects.
Developing communication materials to support the delivery of project engagement.
Managing external consultants and contractors responsible for the delivery of community and stakeholder engagement.
Making decisions regarding the right balance of engagement activities for projects.
Ensuring the engagement business and administrative requirements of South East Water are delivered.
Developing and maintaining relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Providing engagement support for Integrated Water Management projects and other activities across the Liveability team.

Who are you?

To really thrive in this role, you'll possess the following skills, knowledge and experience:
Experience in planning, implementing and managing community and stakeholder engagement project on a strategic and practical level.
Experience and knowledge in developing community / stakeholder engagement for major infrastructure projects.
High level of written communication skills, particularly relating to writing and presenting information to a variety of audiences.
Excellent verbal communication skills, particularly relating to communicating complex information simply and clearly to a variety of audiences.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with people at all levels.
Ability to manage projects within allocated timeframe and manage competing priorities.
Strong computer literacy using MS Office based products.
Specialist knowledge of IAP2 model and principles of engagement (or equivalent) would be desirable, but not essential.
