**About the Role**:
As the Behaviour Support Educator, you will be responsible for providing proactive, preventative, and targeted services to assist sites to meet the needs of children and young people with additional needs. This includes support and interventions for individual children and young people, groups, classes and whole of preschool and school; as well as consultation with education staff, families, and other professionals to improve preschool and school-wide practices and policies.

The Behaviour Support Educators work in collaboration with school leadership to build school capacity to address and support students with additional behavioural needs, and with school and preschool staff to embed inclusive pedagogies that ensure the learning environment reflects the diversity and experiences of children and young people.

This is a great opportunity to work as a fly in fly out service provider with shared and planned travel to the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the success of children’s education outcomes in aboriginal communities and work in a collaborative, culturally responsive and supportive team.

**Qualifications**:

- Essential a current full teacher registration

**Special Conditions**:
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN -EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Successful applicants must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to enter the APY Lands, as per the local Aboriginal Community Council (APY - Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Executive Board).

**Remuneration**:
STL2: $126,217 per annum (1.0 FTE), plus superannuation.
