**Duties and Responsibilities**:
The responsibilities and duties listed below relate to the management of all assets within the Road Asset Management Plan (RAMP) and the implementation of the Road Management Plan (RMP).

The incumbent will under supervision:

- Prepare work programs to inspect, repair and maintain assets according to Council's Road Management Plan (RMP), a document prepared by Council under the Road Management Act (2004).
- Timely issue work orders to appointed contractors (contractors) or relevant utilities for the repair of Council assets using Council's Asset Management System (AMS).
- Audit contractors for compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations
- Maintain efficient records of inspections, works issued and completed.
- Provide timely, accurate data and reports from the AMS for the purpose of managing:

- Service delivery efficiency
- Internal and external reporting needs
- Operate and maintain the road module of the AMS.
- Undertake various inspections requested by the immediate supervisor and act on inspections undertaken. These will include works relating to insurance claims, building permits, utilities works, vehicle crossings and road opening permits.
- Assist other Council officers to recover the cost of damage to Council's assets, which has been incurred by others.
- Provide high and responsive level internal and external customer service.
- Convey a high level of professionalism, integrity and confidentiality of work, which is consistent with the Council's values and procedures.

**Requirements and Qualifications**:
This position requires knowledge in the field of civil engineering or construction of civil works and infrastructure. The incumbent will have:

- Knowledge of civil, road and footpath construction and maintenance.
- Graduate Engineer with some experience in civil construction or the holder of Certificate of Technology in Civil Engineering or similar and substantial experience in supervising contractors and administrating contracts.
- Substantial knowledge of engineering and construction practices.
- Knowledge of traffic management control of construction sites.
- Understanding of engineering standards, codes of practice and regulations.
- Good communication skills, oral, written and computer based.
- The ability to learn asset management systems.
- Knowledge of asset management theory and practice.
- To gain in a working environment:

- An understanding of Council's strategic objectives.
- An understanding of Council documents relating to asset management.
- An understanding of legislation relating to occupational health and safety.
