**The Opportunity**:
Multiple opportunities exist for Payroll Officers with payroll experience within the public service to work in a busy and fast-paced position that will offer you challenges while operating in a supportive environment which will help keep you sane during the throws of payroll disasters

Whilst a Baseline Clearance is preferred, this area is willing to accept applicants with public service experience and sponsor you for a clearance.

**The Role**:

- Providing clear, comprehensive and accurate verbal and/or written advice to stakeholders
- Maintaining payroll data and accurate records to a high standard
- Completing payroll transactions and related correspondence in accordance with the payroll cycle
- Managing all relevant records according to the department’s record management framework
- Mentoring, training and supporting other payroll officers
- Participating and contributing to the continuous improvement of the payroll team processes and practices
- Contributing to projects that support team business objectives

As the APS5 Payroll Officer you will lead a team to complete payroll transactions, queries and related correspondence ans support by undertaking more complex payroll duties (including SES and Board transaction processing). In addition to this, you responsibilities will include but not limited to:

- Providing clear, comprehensive and accurate verbal and/or written advice to stakeholders within appropriate time frames regarding payroll matters
- Monitoring and managing workloads to achieve deadlines and quality assure the daily work of the team
- Supervising, guiding, and managing team members and provide one on one training
- Participating in the development of systems, processes and practices and operating procedures that support consistent payroll services
- Maintaining accurate records to a high standard
- Contributing to projects that support team business objectives
- Managing all relevant records according to the department’s record management framework

**Your Background and Experience**:
As an experienced Payroll Processing Officer, you will have an excellent attitude with strong attention to detail and clear and concise communication skills. In addition to this you will be capable of working either autonomously or in a team and will be motivated by a fast paced and energetic environment.

You will require excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify numerical errors and use analytical skills to assist with business operations. Your ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and provide expect advice will see you achieve success in this role.

You will have demonstrated previous APS payroll processing experience and ideally a current Baseline security clearance although this is not mandatory as the department will sponsor you

**Salary / Rate**:

- $72k - $84k +15.4% Super
- 12 month non ongoing contract
