- developing First Nations Investment Frameworks, including providing advice on First Nations evaluation and cost-benefit analysis
- developing First Nations Economic Prosperity Frameworks for framing policy design
- publishing periodic ‘State of the NSW First Nations Business Sector’ reports
- supporting Aboriginal Affairs NSW on Closing the Gap
- identifying opportunities to improve economic development for the First Nations economy
- producing First Nations Women’s Economic Participation Review including future-focused policy options

**Your day as an Advisor, Economist**

The **First Nations Economic Wellbeing** Branch works to embed and recognise First Nations rights, interests, and perspectives in the evidence and frameworks that inform government decision making. We are responsible for building Treasury and the wider sector’s capability to design and evaluate First Nations initiatives in a culturally informed way and drive greater outcomes.

You will be helping to develop and implement strategies, frameworks and reforms that impact First Nations people and communities, with the aim of improving policy design and public investment decisions in New South Wales. This work will help to identify ‘what works’ in improving outcomes for First Nations people and build capacity in teams across Treasury to work towards these goals in partnership with First Nations communities.

This role liaises extensively with other areas within Treasury, with NSW government agencies and equivalents in other jurisdictions across Australia, and with external stakeholders.
