**The Opportunity**

Project EnergyConnect (PEC) will provide a new high voltage interconnector between New South Wales and South Australia. Transgrid’s portion of the project stretches 700 kilometres from Wagga Wagga to the South Australian border. The project is a critical part of Australia’s energy transition, supporting new large scale renewable generation and the implementation of the AEMO Integrated System Plan (ISP).

As Cost Controller you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of Energy Connect financial information in the system and be able to identify issues, implement business solutions and contribute to the continuous improvement of financial operating and transaction processes associated with the project. You will closely work with number of work streamleads including Delivery, Engineering, Commercial and Community Stakeholder Engagement to develop and maintain all project financial requirements.

You will also be responsible for producing financial reports, managing project risks and assisting the business in extracting and analysing financial information.

**Skills & Experience**

To be successful in the role you will have:

- Tertiary or equivalent qualifications in Commerce, Finance or a related discipline with evidence of continued studies to maintain and enhance skills and relevant experience
- Membership or working towards membership of the Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants or Institute of Chartered Accountants or similar organisation
- High level proven stakeholder management, negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated analytical skills with ability to draw and interpret relevant consistent data from multiple sources and presenting information in clear concise reports
- Be able to use judgement, discretion and make sound decisions and juggle competing priorities.
- Sound financial and project accounting work experience for a large corporation or utility
- Understanding of the regulatory and accounting framework and business environment - preferred but not essential
- Experience in undertaking business performance and process improvements
- Customer focus with strong relationship building skills
- Very strong reporting and analytics, and MS Office skills (especially in Excel).
- Knowledge and understanding or agreement to learn the relevant TransGrid policies and procedures
