**How this position will Make the Difference to City of Melbourne**

The Waste & Recycling Officer implements the City of Melbourne’s communal waste and recycling hub program, the administration of permits to control bins stored in the public realm and best practice waste management principles across the central city.

**What you will bring(Selection criteria)**
- Tertiary qualification and/or significant experience and proven achievement in the provision of cleaning/waste services
- Strong team player, with the ability to demonstrate emotional intelligence and sound judgement whilst collaborating and cooperating on decisions and initiatives
- Excellent written and oral communication skills including the capacity to negotiate and liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders, and the ability to build and manage relationships critical to the delivery of Council’s services
- A high level of initiative and independence and the ability to establish own priorities and work with limited supervision
- Demonstrated knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework applicable to the position
