My client is a boutique energy advisory practice established for 40 years advising government, corporate and industry clients on competitive electricity and gas markets in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. They provide economic, technical and regulatory consulting services for energy markets, advising on issues ranging from establishment to operations, investment and reform.

**The role**:
Two opportunities exist for analyst/consultants to join the dynamic and diverse Advisory team to support a growing pipeline of work in Australia and Southeast Asia. You will be exposed to the rapidly evolving energy landscape and dynamics of competitive energy markets and power system planning. You will be involved in projects including rigorous analysis, modelling and report writing. You can expect to be challenged and given responsibilities from day one and to receive support and training to develop your skills. You will work across the entire project work flow, engage with clients and contribute to the development of the business commensurate with your experience.

**Key Requirements**:

- 1-5 years’ experience in energy industry
- Recent Bachelor degree university or PhD students also welcome to apply
- Academic background in a related field of study (engineering, mathematics, science, finance or economics)
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, writing and communication skills.
- Experience with energy market modelling using tools such as PROPHET, PLEXOS, and/or power system modelling tools such as IPSA, PSS/E or similar
- Team player with a can-do attitude, quick learner and self-starter
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel

**Highly Desirable**:

- Practical experience with Python, SQL, VBA, or other programming languages
- Skills in mathematical optimization
- Experience in power systems modelling, renewable energy, energy storage, energy sector transition

Salary range is negotiable depending on experience level with opportunities for rapid advancement for a high performer.
