**About the role**

Mineral Resources is currently seeking professional to join the multidisciplinary product prediction generation team within Orebody Knowledge umbrella.

The Project Geometallurgist primary responsibility is to generate, validate and provide product predictions to Mine Planning for both Iron Ore and Lithium operations.

This will be a hands-on position reporting directly to the Principal Geometallurgist. For this position you will have the benefit based at our brand new state of the art Head Office in Osborne Park, and it is a requirement for regular site travel as the business requires.

**In this position you’ll**:

- Work with various disciplines within business including Metallurgy, Geology, Mining and Projects to implement the product predictions (tonnes and grades) for various mine planning horizons.
- Plan and develop diamond drilling program to represent orebody for metallurgical testwork.
- Support and provide consultation for metallurgical testwork programs.
- Analyse metallurgical results in conjunction with geological model to create product regressions using statistical analysis.
- Monitor and validate performance of product predictions against plant actual historical performance on a quarterly basis to ensure the any deviation is within an acceptable range.
- Incorporate any additional influencing factors like changes in plant settings or product strategies to predict product tonnes and grades.
- Manage and build relationships with key operational and functional stakeholders.

**Necessary skills and qualifications**:

- Tertiary level education in Metallurgy or Geology or Process Engineering
- Minimum 2 years work experience in Iron ore or Lithium operations
- Basic understanding of plant operations, geology and mining within Lithium or Iron Ore mining
- Strong MS - Excel or Power BI user or knowledge of any other data analysis softwares e.g. Tableau or Minitab
- Ability to meet deadlines and excellent time management skills
- Good interpersonal skills and willingness to learn
- Excellent communication skills - both oral and written
