**About the Opportunity**

We are looking for a Platform System Training Equipment (PSTE) Mechanical Supervisor who will safely, effectively and efficiently plan, schedule, record, maintain and supervise corrective and preventative maintenance on PSTE in accordance with ASC and TA-SM policies and procedures. The aim is to maximise availability and reliability of the PSTE simulators and training equipment at the Submarine Training Centre on Garden Island, WA.

The purpose of the PSTE Mechanical Supervisor is to safely, effectively and efficiently plan, schedule, conduct, record and supervise; fault finding, and do corrective and preventative maintenance on PSTE in accordance with TA-SM and ASC policies and procedures. The aim is to maximise availability and reliability of the PSTE simulators and training rigs.

**Key areas of work**
- The safe and timely resolution of PSTE defects.
- Identifying opportunities to increase reliability and subsequent availability of the PSTE.
- Identifying opportunities to increase efficiency and effectiveness while ensuring safety is not compromised.
- Build strong proactive relationships with counterparts at ASC-W & ASC-N with the aim of knowledge sharing and skill enhancement across the organisation.
- Identify schedule risks and applicable risk mitigation strategies.

**About you**
- Highly autonomous and self-motivated, demonstrating sound judgement, initiative, and an ability to manage multiple priorities with a sense of urgency.
- Ability to lead and mentor individuals and teams in improvement initiatives.
- Direct experience working within ASC value stream groups with strong interface to Maintenance - these typically involve Engineering, Maintenance, Planning, Projects and Supply Chain.
- Ability to trace and interpret mechanical drawings and tables in technical documentation as well as conduct fault diagnostics.
- Front Line Technical Delegation as required.

**Essential Qualifications and Licences**
- Trade qualification, supported by relevant Collins Class submarine experience gained at a supervisory/management level.
- The ability to lead and provide advanced technical guidance to a skilled team in the associated trade discipline as required.

**Responsibilities**
- Verification that installations are performed in accordance with standards, system procedures and system instructions.
- Work is performed to schedule and meets relevant quality standards and delivers the customer’s required outcomes.
- Identifying opportunities for production improvement and ensure that they are implemented.
- Responsible to ensure that CMS process compliance & TA-SM SOPs are adhered to.
- Ensure the execution and maintenance of safe and non-discriminatory working practices in accordance with relevant Company Policy and Legislative requirements.

The PSTE team are located in the Submarine Training and Systems Centre (STSC), a Commonwealth owned Defence asset, managed by the Director Training Authority - Submarine (DTA-SM). As such, this facility expects all staff, trainees, visitors and contractors to conform to a minimum standard of behaviour, dress and respect endorsed in Defence Values and Next Generation Navy guidelines including those as an ASC employee.
