**Technical Flood Specialist, Clerk Grade 11/12**
- Great career opportunity to join the Hawkesbury-Nepean Valley Team with the Adaptation, Mitigation and Reconstruction group in the agency that supports NSW communities to recover from disasters.
- Temporary role up to 12 months.
- Full time temporary role with 2 days in the office; one day Parramatta and the other at Parramatta or Sydney plus WFH options.

**About the Agency**
The NSW Reconstruction Authority (the Authority) is a statutory corporation within Planning & Environment. The Authority will improve how NSW plans for disasters and help communities to recover from them faster.
To reduce the severity and impacts of disasters, the Authority will complete critical planning and preparation with communities, businesses, and government. When disaster does strike, we will get recovery started swiftly and coordinate reconstruction efforts across agencies, communities, and other stakeholders.

**About the role**

As a Technical Flood Specialist, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of a variety of projects and technical methodologies. You provide specialist advice on the Hawkesbury-Nepean Valley Disaster Adaptation Plan to drive cross-government decision making, program implementation and future planning initiatives. You will also be required to communicate with key stakeholders across jurisdictions and various working groups to provide key input for flood risk management decisions.

**About you**

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Demonstrated experience in program and project management.
- The ability to adapt and respond quickly in changing situations and manage competing priorities.
- The ability to coordinate across programs to achieve outcomes.
- Strong collaboration and written and verbal communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders
- High level attention to detail and accuracy.
- An understanding of government processes and experience preparing briefing materials.
- Experience in data analysis and interpreting data to work towards best practice solutions.

The following skills are highly desirable:

- Experience with flood damages assessment methodology
- Experience in generation of exposure databases
- Experience managing consultant projects.
- Ability to distil complex concepts into clear and concise reports.
